I began teaching guitar lessons after graduating from the Red Deer College Jazz Performance Program in 2015 and I have been running my small business, Music with Mack, full-time since 2020.
Along with academic experience, I have also played in a few local bands and recorded on a handful of albums over the years. Every summer I look forward to mentoring as a guitar instructor at BAM! Camp (formerly Girls Rock Camp Calgary) and supporting Calgary's own local music scene.
I truly enjoy cultivating relationships with my students and their families. My friendly and patient attitude is well-suited for all ages and learning styles, my main goal is to build confidence and develop musical abilities as it suits each individual.
Hi, my name is Mack!

Lesson Rates and Information

Our son (10 years old) absolutely loves his guitar lessons with Mack. He was ready to give up before starting with her, and she won him over with her laid-back but highly instructional style! Not only is she super-skilled on the guitar, but she’s fun & and takes a genuine interest in her students. (& she comes to us!) He looks forward to his lessons and has learned so much! Could not recommend more!!

Testimonials
My "Music with Mack" journey started just over 2 years ago and what FUN journey it has been !! An advertisement in our local community newsletter brought us together, I passed the interview, and she agreed to "try" and teach an old dog some new tricks. I truly enjoy Mack's carefree and non-pressured style of teaching. She laughs at my "senior" moments, accommodates my busy lifestyle, tolerates my YouTube music rabbit holes, and smiles when we try to play music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s (my genre and likes). Learning to play the acoustic guitar has been a life-long dream of mine and Mackenzie is helping make it happen. She points me in the right direction, circles back when we go squirrel chasing. And most importantly, she's a friendly and happy-go-lucky person, an incredibly talented and educated musician, and has a warm and soulful heart. Needless to say, I look forward to year #3 and learning to appreciate (and play) barre chords without dislocating my fingers and wrist. Thank-you Mackenzie !!
